Zaphod was a cat

Our younger cat Zaphod had to be put down today. I feel a little empty inside still, but the crying is all done. He ended up with some kind of massive blood infection, and the vets couldn't do anything to help him for certain. He was in so much grief when he was finally put down. He could barely move, and his heartbeat sounded like a hummingbird. We know he loved us very much though, because the last day he was with us he came to each of us (my husband, me, and our roomate) and begged to get in our laps. He then sat there contently, with his head propped up on our foot, or in Rikki's case, in her arms. Even when he could barely walk or stand, and couldn't eat, all he wanted was to lay down in our laps and arms. He was a good cat. I'll miss him dearly. Goodbye Zaphod.
